What 30 Investor Pitches in 60 Days Taught Me
(The Hard Way)
In the last 60 days, Iβve pitched to over 30 investors to raise funding for my AI software company.
Here are the four lessons that changed the game for me:
1. Be a Storyteller
Numbers inform, but stories move.
Your story should clearly answer:
ππΎ Why this moment
ππΎ Why this opportunity
ππΎ Why your team
Tell the story of an underserved market, a shifting trend, or a competitor blind spot β and why your solution is uniquely positioned to lead.
Pro-tip: Appeal to self-interest, not mercy or gratitude.
2. Less is More
Investors donβt have time (or patience) for long-winded explanations.
Make it so simple a 5th grader could follow.
Focus on what matters most:
ππΎ The problem youβre solving
ππΎ Your unique solution
ππΎ Why you and your team
ππΎ Your traction so far
ππΎ How theyβll make money
