Charlie Munger passed away on November 28, 2023, just 34 days shy of completing his 100th trip around the sun. At the time of his death, this businessman, investor, and philanthropist — Warren Buffet’s right-hand man for decades — was worth an estimated 2.6 billion. While many billionaires are hated or controversial, Munger doesn’t seem to have been one of them.

He’s looked up to by many, many people (myself included) as an example of a life truly well lived. He built an incredible reputation and brand, and seemed truly to be happy to the very end.

Over the past few months, I’ve mentally tucked away a number of wisdoms as I’ve read about Charlie Munger. In tribute to this truly unique human’s passing, I wanted to share some of these learnings that have impacted me the most with my corner of the internet.

In no particular order, here they are:

#1 To get what you want, you need to deserve what you want.

In today’s day and age it’s “Manifest this; manifest that” . . . Charlie shows us all there’s, well, a bit more to it.
